Foyer Fun

I am considering some changes to our foyer.

First, I've decided having two mirrors in our living room is one too many.  The gold/back one above the mantel is gorgeous (garage sale find!), and I think it's more useful above the foyer table.  [Which means I'll be in the market for some pretty art -- maybe a DIY painting?!? - for the mantel].

Second, all of the warm wood in the foyer is starting to give me a headache.  I have been in love with Benjamin Moore's Gentlemen's Gray ever since I saw Jenny from Little Green Notebook paint a mirror that color here.  So moody and masculine.  Love it.

Third, I think painting the foyer table blue will help to tie all of the color that bouncing around in the living room and the dining room.  The Chiang Mai Dragon fabric is a focal point in the room and it has a dark, moody blue too, which I can match (and make sure it works with the blues in the Santorini painting).  I also have a hairbrained idea to put curtain panels on the door in the dining room in a blue geometric print, so having blue in the foyer will speak to the blue in the dining room.

Fourth, I found these incredible lamps on Pinterest and I have been dying to put some pretty fabric on my plain white lamps.  The fabric is up in the air, but would like to use something that is already being used in the house.  No more patterns, Erin! Get it together!

Fifth, making decisions is hard.  I wish someone would tell me how they actually make a decision in their own house - everything depends on everything else, and unless you are rich enough to get an interior designer to plan out your entire house at once, every decision you make will effect something else in your house --> constant reevaluation and changes.  I guess that what makes this whole decorating thing fun, right? At least it's never boring.

What do you guys think? Paint the foyer table? Yeay! Neah?

xoxo,
Erin
