So Grateful

Dear friends and family,

Thank you so much for sharing in our celebration this weekend! Lynn and I are so blessed to have so many wonderful people in our lives.  A special thanks to my Nanny and Pops who made the trip from Texas to help us put the final touches on the house before we warmed it up with a big fiesta, and to Jim, my father in law for driving down from Upstate NY :) Below are a couple pics of the house in its "finished" stages before the party.

We finally dressed up the mantel with some candles (World Market), vases (HomeGoods), pussy willow stems (World Market) and some pretty orchids from my friends Kelly and Emily :)

Here's a final look at the living room couch, with my new lamps (HomeGoods), end tables (Home Goods), pillows (Woodyliana on Etsy), couch (Urban Country), and oil painting (Santorini, Greece).

Nanny and I reupholstered the foyer chairs and the dining room chairs (will post pics tomorrow).  The fabric on the foyer chairs is this pretty indigo fabric from Calico called Malaga Diamond.  The foyer table also got a face lift with Jan M.'s gorgeous bouquet.

We also reupholstered all of our dining chairs in Braemore's Wonderland fabric and I will share pics soon.

In the entryway, we hung a painting that Nanny gave me that I absolutely love - the turquoise color is sooo pretty in person, and placed my OneKingsLane chevron mail bucket.

Here's our Crate and Barrel Avalon set in the sunroom (lady's cave) with a never-ending spread of wine and cheese :)

And of course, my favorite piece in the house, the suzani settee, with my marble accent table, antique foot stool, and rattan Craigslist chair.

The kitchen finally has hardware!

Our bedroom was the last decorating priority (isn't it always?).  It still needs a fabric headboard as the focal point, but I'll get to that... eventually.  Most of our furniture is Ikea upstairs, with an EBay Turkish rug and some animal prints above the bed.

Our master bath still need some love, but what's a house without a project to do?

This is our little nook in the master that can be used for so many things.  Right now, it's just storage, but every woman who saw it had the same idea for it for one day . . . :)

Here's the little baby guest with my spray-painted day bed, the antique quilt, our red Ikea chair and my Etsy pink geometric print pillows.

We finally finished the larger guest bedroom!! Bed (Ikea), end tables, lamps, pillows, wrought iron decorative piece (Home Goods), blanket (TJ Maxx), quilt (Pottery Barn). We found the rod iron piece and spray painted it black :)

This used to be the big guest closet, but we turned it into a study nook.  I will post better pics soon once I finish the wallpapering job.

All in all, this weekend was special for two reasons.  First, Lynn and I got to sit back, relax, and celebrate 6 months of hard work with the people we love the most.  Second, for the first time in months, we felt absolutely no remorse when we did nooooooooooooo house work on Sunday :) .

  1. wow, erin! everything looks awesome! makes me want to be a real adult and have a place that looks so bona fide!

  2. Everything looks really great. I have home improvement envy in a big way. Btw, it's "wrought iron." No offense intended. Once an editor, always an editor. Congratulations on getting the biggest parts done, and done so well!

  3. Love everything in your post, looks so awesome!
